Twice the fool
I purchased this iron about 2 years ago because it was advertised as “NO LEAK”. After intermittent use it started leaking like a sieve. Otherwise I did like the iron.

Don’t Waste Your Time or Money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bought this the first week of December and thought it was great! Two weeks later the retractable cord mechanism broke.

Much Better Experience Than Most
Unlike most, I’ve had a much better experience than most with this iron. I’ve had it for almost two years now, and it still heats up and works.

I bought this iron about five months ago and it completely stopped working yesterday. I have no idea why it suddenly broke. I used it about four times a week and was not impressed. Even when it was working, the steam generated was not great. There are much better irons out there for the same price. The best thing about this iron was the retractable cord, but you had to manipulate that to get it to retract fully.

This iron is such a piece of junk. I bought it because, as with most impulse buys, it was the ‘prettiest’ one on display. I used it a handful of times; this iron made you dread the job even more than normal. It got hot enough to be dangerous, but not hot enough to remove those nasty wrinkles from your clothes. Over, and over, and over, and over you’d iron–only to have your clothes look like you’d freshly pulled them from the dryer, rather than spent 30 minutes ironing a shirt so it could look so-so. SteamMASTER? What steam? After ironing for 20 minutes, the steam might act like it thought about steaming, give a small ‘poof’ of steam, and it was done. That was all the steam you got. No steam? OK, just shoot it with the mist button. Sure–if you hold the iron 10 inches back from your clothes. Perhaps Sunbeam figured it would be fun to GUESS where to aim each time you spray your clothes. Well, after using it, oh, probably ten times…kapoot. Dead as a doornail (whatever a doornail is).
In the meantime, my sister was wandering through Wal-Mart, and lo-and-behold, there sat the ‘prettiest’ iron on the shelf. We obviously swim in the same gene pool, because into her cart it went. She won’t use hers because water dribbles out of the holes and from around the soleplate before it has a chance to become steam. There may be more details, but they are unbeknownst to me, other than the fact that she hates hers, as well, and is returning it soon.
Two irons…two horror stories. Not a good average, Sunbeam.

I actually do like the iron, I love the steam shot, but the spray needs to be redone, it never hits my clothes, it always sprays above and beyond my clothes onto the floor. I just don’t use that feature. My problem is with the retractable cord, as a previous reviewer stated, you have to wrestle with the cord to get it to fully retract. Well, in doing so, mine broke. I have to hold the cord under my hand now when I’m ironing. Otherwise, it just shoots right back inside the iron. UGHHHH!! That drives me nuts. I guess, it doesn’t really pay to try to get a little more fancy with your iron. I’m going back to the good old stand by.

Just another iron…
This is just another steam iron. I’ve had mine for almost two years and it has the problems that all steam irons have.

Looks nice, doesn’t iron well
An iron is supposed to do two things: Get hot, and be flat. Guess which one this one does?
It definitely has features that I’ll look for in my next iron- I love the…

Dont judge a book by it’s cover (continued..)…
I couldn’t agree any more with Donald Francis’ review. I bought this iron since I too thought that this was the “prettiest” one on the shelf.

The worst iron I ever purchased
I purchased this iron to replace a Rowenta iron that was vastly overrated. I liked the (Sunbeam’s) retractable cord and the ease of filling it with water.

Waste of money & energy!
I bought this iron because a friend had recommended the Sunbeam brand to me. In fact, she has had her Sunbeam for 15+ years.

LOVE THIS IRON!
I love this iron…….it’s good and heavy, retractable cord is nice and it looks great. It’s a long iron and covers a lot of area. Steam features are nice.
