DeLonghi Stiromeglio Compact PRO 300 Ironing System with Pressurized Boiler

Posted on 27 October 2009 by

Product Description
The professional-quality ironing system with pressurized boiler gives you fresh, perfectly ironed garments every time. The very high volume of dry, powerful steam makes ironing quicker and more effective leaving dampness. It features the first double-material boiler made of a stainless-steel upper and super-alloy bottom that allows tap water to be used without the risk of valve occlusion. The molded tank allows for the heating element to be imbedded in the bottom rather than attached to the outside, creating a much better thermal capacity of the boiler for longer, more consistant ironing temperatures. The iron has a fully adjustable thermostat and steam flow to allow for perfect ironing on any type of fabric, and it can also be set for continous steam for vertical steaming of curtains, coats, etc. The professional cork handle provides hours of fatigue-free ironing, and the steam tube can be attached to either side of the boiler to accomodate either left- or right-handed people. All this and more in a beautiful professional ironing system that is backed by a three-year guarantee.Amazon.com Review
Steam away creases in a badly crumpled shirt with the Compact Pro 300 Ironing System from Italian home appliance giant DeLonghi. The iron improves upon previous steam irons with its enhanced pressurized boiler, constructed to convert even harsh tap water into steam. With an adjustable thermostat and varying steam levels, the professional ironing system accommodates a wide variety of fabrics, ranging from delicate silks to cotton and linen. The well-designed iron handle adapts for left- and right-handed users alike.

The steam iron features a heavy-duty aluminum soleplate with a polished satin finish for snag-free, smooth ironing with even heat distribution. DeLonghi crafted the boiler in two materials to extend its steam conversion capacities, using stainless-steel construction in the upper portion and a super-alloy bottom. For greater thermal heat, the boiler tank is molded to enable the heating to rest within the bottom. The tank holds up to 1 liter of water for 2 hours of steam ironing. Users grip the ergonomically friendly cork handle to operate the iron. The ironing system also adjusts to steam vertically for curtains and hanging items. As with all electrical appliances, read the enclosed warnings and user guidelines for the steam iron before use. This item is covered by a limited three-year warranty and weighs 13 pounds upon shipping. –Jessica Reuling

I bought this iron with the intention of ironing not only my dresses but my wife’s dresses also. It saved me plenty of time as she has over 100 dresses and often changes into 2 sets per day. I accidently fell upon another feature of this iron that the manufacturer failed to mention. In the morning I find a whole army of ants foraging around my kitchen floor because I have not swept up from the previous night..I just take the iron and blast a jet of steam over the pesky ants..and then I sweep them up along with the leftovers from the previous night..killing two birds with one stone..and I still have enough steam to make a cappucino

I had been eyeing to get one of this high capacity steam iron for years, so when my Panasonic steam iron got electrical short early this year, I order this immediately without second thought, luckily colleagues were on their way back from our US office to hand carry this product for me (BTW I am in Taiwan).

    Pros

    - lots of steam, and very high temperature steam, so you have to be careful.

    - high capacity water tank, fill it up and use it for hours.

    - light and easy to handle stainless steel iron.

    Cons

    - can’t see how much water left in the tank, the only way to tell that it need refill is when the steam loose its pressure.

PS, the DeLonghi distributor in Taiwan said they will import similar item starting next year, have to wait and see if they will have this model in stock.

I must confess I have never ironed a shirt in my life but I bought this ironing system as a gift for my wife. She has been using a Rowenta Professional Luxe iron for several years. She spends hours everyday quilting and using the iron. She just raves about how much better this iron is than the Rowenta. She especially likes how light it is to use compared to the Rowenta. No complaints so far.

After years of repeated buying of Rowenta irons (which consistantly died on me), I decided to buy Delonghi Stiromeglio based on the great reviews. I have to say that they were right! It’s great, ironing is a breeze, and is heavy enough to give professional results. Highly recommend it!
